GHOSTNOTE

Band's bassist, Lege, started gathering players for a small wedding gig held at 2008 Summer. A wedding for him and his bride, Sussu. He started by picking his soon-to-be wife to handle the vocals. He did not need to look much further to get rest of the band, there was alot of young musicians around him. Jussi from a band called Siskot was chosen to grab the second guitar, the lead guitarist (Jari) was also found from Lege's hometown as well the drummer (Imbu), too.

They practised all day and they practised all night. To be honest, we hardly practised few times a week. Perhaps the best practise for us was a small gig one day before the actual event, the weddings. At that time our playlists majorly consisted of various covers, including Led Zeppelin, Cream, Blondie, etc.

After the great momentum was over, everyone had some thoughts in their minds but no-one expressed them out loudly. It was a great bunch of people and we didnt have much problems with getting the cover songs rock'n roll. Finally someone encouraged self and asked the others if they wanted to continue with the current setup, people were good and the taste in music seemed to be alot of the same sort. Nobody disagreed at that point.

Suddenly the band grew once again; we had received a keyboard player. It seemed to bring a whole new dimension to our music and it also brought us another gig for christmas! We were going to play covers (again) at a birthday party. After the birthday gig was over we were a bit overloaded with the constant cover-song playing.

It was time to decide if we wanted to move on and do something on our own, stop with the covers and begin from a clean table. This resulted in Jussi departing from our crew. He wanted to focus on his own band, Siskot. No hard feelings, Siskot is a great band! It would have been a big loss if Siskot had to quit because their guitarist kept running around with other band. As Jussi left us behind, the keyboard player quitted too. For different reasons though, maybe the music we were daydreaming of wasn't much into his taste.

Until this we had not decided on a name for the band. Actually.. all the small events we spent time at we just introduced ourselves with random names. If we wanted to be serious, we needed a more serious name. A name was picked. The name was gonna be "Ghostnote".

Regardless of the loss of two good players we did not lose our desire for creating something on our own. Not at all, I'd like to say it only boosted our spirits! And we started writing our first very own songs...

Everything looked rather good. We had created a few own songs and the teamplay started to work better and better every day but we were definetily missing something.. and it was the second guitar. Jussi left a great hole in our lines, damn you!

2009 Spring arrived. And God (or whoever) bless that time; we got a new guitarist. A guitarist who seemed to be full of energy, full of new ideas and apparently with lots of experience from his previous musical projects. Things started to look extremely good, even though few of us might have cried a tear or two because some of our songs required a little revamp to make them sound good with double guitars.

... and we are still going on that road!
